Prioritizing Soft Skills in Islamic Rural Banking Recruitment Processes
Main Article Content
Abstract
Research Aims: This study analyzes the influence of work experience, competency certification, and educational background on employee acceptance opportunities at Bank Madina Syariah Yogyakarta.
Design/methodology/approach: This qualitative field research collects data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, conclusions drawn, and validity tests through triangulation.
Research Findings: Work experience and competency certification are not the main recruitment factors. Bank Madina prioritizes communication skills, behavior, potential, confidence, and appearance. Certification is only mandatory for the board of directors. Educational background is prioritized only for certain positions (accounting/law).
Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study reveals the incompatibility between conventional recruitment theory (skills-based approach) and Bank Madina's practice of emphasizing soft skills.
